“Scream. Dance. Rage. Repeat.” This is the mantra of Emo Night Brooklyn. The event came to fruition when two best friends, Alex and Ethan, wanted to create a space for alternative music fans to come together and share the music they enjoy.
From the event’s humble beginnings in a Williamsburg basement, Emo Night Brooklyn has grown into an international tour.
The event stopped in Nashville recently. Ryan Key (Yellowcard) and Anthony Raneri (Bayside) were welcomed to the stage to DJ their favorite jams for the energetic crowd.
There is plenty of My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, The Killers, and Paramore being played.
Alex and Ethan waved large trash bags in the air that were filled with black balloons as the crowd bounced them between each other. The energy in the room was excitable, dance induced, and nostalgic.
A few fans were allowed to dance on stage at a time, which created an elevated experience for the fan.
Ryan Key was an exceptional DJ. He danced, played music, and sang a bit. He was having the time of his life, which in turn made everyone want to have the time of their own lives.
Emo Night Brooklyn is worth checking out if you haven’t yet. You may just get to share the stage with one of your favorite emo bandmates.
